FAQ - Performance Issues

Q: The resolution drops to 480 when I leave the home network that the camera is connected to. It will not go back to 1080 when restarting app or changing settings. The Setting is set to 1080.

A: This behavior is because your mobile carrier does not support peer to peer connection. The resolution dropped to cope with the network condition. Please ask your mobile carrier to unblock peer to peer connection. The setting is set to the maximum ideal resolution according to network conditions, and one may want to lower the resolution if the smartphone/tablet has a slow processor.

There are a few options in camera settings to improve image quality and frame rate.

  • Use a higher image resolution
  • Enable high image quality
  • Disable audio

You can reduce kbps (network bandwidth utilization) through the following camera options.

  • Use a lower image resolution
  • Enable low image quality
  • Enable save power

Red exclamation mark signifies peer to peer connection is not established. Some network configuration and mobile carrier can disable the peer to peer feature for various reasons. In this case, the communication mode will change to server based. You may experience a drop in video and audio quality and a less reliable connection. At the same time, the bandwidth is lowered to less than 50 kbps to maintain connection.

If the internet speed is slow, reduce the video settings through the following camera options:

  • Use a lower image resolution
  • Enable low image quality
  • Enable save power

A powerful phone or tablet can deliver a high quality video but also use plenty of power. If the battery is running out even when the phone is plugged in to a power outlet, please check "save power" option in settings.

Also, a 2 Amp usb power source may be required to keep the phone charged. If you find your camera phone is powered off, its likely the charger needs to be replaced with a 2 Amp charger, to prevent the phone from shutting down.

Your WardenCam folder on your Google drive may have been deleted by accident. You just need to go to trash and restore the folder. The WardenCam Google Drive permissions are part of that folder and is required to save video to that folder.

If you happen to delete the folder and empty the trash, Sign out of WardenCam from all your devices and sign in, and accept the Permissions to start recording video.

All VPNs are different and are subjected to different rules. Adding a VPN slows down all your internet traffic including WardenCam Livestreaming. Depending on your VPN, it may block access to any site or service. Generally, if you can access this website and your Google Drive or Dropbox, you should be able to run WardenCam Apps, but its ultimately dependent on how your VPN is configured.

Did you purchase via google play store? If so, the upgrade is linked to your google play account (not the app sign in account). You can enable the upgrade on all android devices as long as they are in sync with the right google play account.

When you purchase via itunes store, the upgrade is linked to your apple account. You can enable the upgrade on all your ios devices as long as they are in sync with the same apple account.

Because of different App ecosystems, the licenses do not transfer over, but the Apple and Android apps communicate with each other for video security

Sign in with the same google account on multiple devices, and set each to "camera" mode. On the viewer, you will see a list of available cameras.

Android:Click "Pro" button (bottom right on the sign in screen)

iOS:Click "Pro" button (bottom right on the sign in screen) You will then see the in app purchase dialog

You can purchase through google play store and iOS store. Contact Us if the purchase is not available. Only the camera device requires the upgrade to run for 24/7. Make sure you upgrade on the camera device first. The upgrade is tied to your google play / apple account.

You only need to purchase the upgrade once for your all Android devices. The upgrade is linked to your google play account. The purchase can be recognized on all your Android devices as long as they have the same google play account in sync. It is preferred to upgrade first on the camera device instead of the viewer device.

You only need to purchase the upgrade once for all your Apple devices. The upgrade is linked to your iTunes account. WardenCam360 for Android and WardenCam360 for iOS are two separate products and cannot transfer purchases between the two platforms. You'll have to purchase the iOS and Android version of WardenCam360 separately if you plan to use it on both platforms.

Once you purchase WardenCam360 for iOS you can freely transfer it to any of your iOS devices (iPad, iPhone or iPad) as long as they are connected to the same iTunes account. The same goes for Android - purchasing it once from the Google Play Store gives you the ability to transfer the purchase to all your other Android devices linked to the same Google Play account.

If you upgrade on the viewer device, you just need to manually enable the upgrade on the camera device once. Before you manually upgrade the camera device, it is still running as the trial. The manual enable procedure is simply to sign in once on the camera device as a camera or a viewer.

We are currently not offering any windows version but will consider it in the future.

Contact us and ask for more trial hours.
